Butter Naan

Ingredients 

  • 2 cup of plain flour ( whole wheat flour/ atta)
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • ¼ cup of yogurt (2to3 tablespoon)
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • salt to taste
  • Butter

Preparations

  1.     Soaking the yeast in lukewarm water                                                                                                                                                                                   Take a bowl and add 1tspn yeast and 2tspn sugar. pour lukewarm water into the bowl. Make sure the water is not very hot. And just let it rest for two to three minutes.
  2. take an another bowl add 2cup of plain flour, add ¼ cup of yogurt, ¼tspn baking powder, 1tbsp ghee and salt to taste.
  3. In the first bowl, you can see the yeast is formatted and it started floating on to the water, mix it. and use this yeast water to bind the dough. mix all the ingredients together. If you feel to add extra water, you can always use some lukewarm water.
  4. Knead to a soft and smooth dough
  5. When the dough is ready, make a pit in the centre and keep it in a bowl and cover it.leave it for one and half an hour.
  6. Make small rounds out of it and give it in the ball shape. then flatten the dough on a dry board and give a triangle shape, stretch it.
  7. Place the naan onto the hot skillet or pan and press with fingers. when the bottom side is partly cooked, flip if. When the second side is cooked flip again. You can see brown bubbles on the naan
  8. When the naan is turned to brown, remove it from skillet.
  9. Place the Naan on a plate and spread some butter on top.
  10. Serve it.
